La Fe Island Tour
Mangroves and Sea Dragons
Endemic flora and fauna
Similar to Fernandina, the youngest island of the archipelago, La Fe ecosystem is ruled by marine iguanas, lava rocks, red mangroves and the ocean. It is located a short 20 minutes from Puerto Ayora making it an excellent option for a day tour.
In the landing site, inside the Red Mangrove jungle there is a narrow trail surrounded by a Candelabra Cactus forest. Following the trail will lead you to the shoreline where black basaltic lava, ulva seaweed, Blue Footed Boobies and Sally Ligthfoot Crabs create a unique contrast of colors. At the shoreline a sea lions colony and a large group of marine iguanas warming up in the rocks will be waiting for you.
Returning to the Tesoro, you will gear up to snorkel around and in between the reefs and mangroves. Close encounters with sea turtles, sea lions, marine iguanas and unique tropical and sub-tropical fish are common.
Fishing is always an option at San Louis Seamount.

If you charter the Tesoro Sport Fishing Yacht a private van will to take you from your hotel to take you to the main pier in Puerto Ayora, where you will board the Tesoro. Individual bookings will be picked up at the pier by the crew.
A 40 minutes navigation from La Fe and 1 hour from Puerto Ayora, this fishing sight could have Wahoos, Yellow Fin Tunas, Bonitos Sierra, Dorados and even Marlins in season.
Snorkeling and recreational freediving, with usual sightings of marine iguanas, sea turtles, and rays all in shallow waters around tidal pools.
Lunch at La Fe protected bay, a wet landing or swimming to the landing site depending on the tide, on a small island with an organic sand beach, unique mangrove and cacti forests, home to a large colony of marine iguanas.
A short 20 minute navigation back to town.
